12/14 So it's time to change some pictures around here but our snow went away. Everyone is freaking out right now about the warm weather(it got around 50 Degrees in town today). It would be bad enough with Al Gore's book coming out and all these other studies (about global warming) but with last winter being such a bust and then this warmth there is a different feel about things. At least Drew Bradley still believes global warming doesn't exist, so that's something. Not everyone is upset, there are plenty of folks who would prefer it stayed this way, and we have had tons of great riding weather this fall. It's kind of fun going around your summer chores in Nov. (no bugs). Anyways, we did have a snowstorm on the 8th and it was enougth to get out on the touring skis and make some turns a couple of times.

11/15 Not much to report on here this time of year, we are just winterizing and waiting for the cold to kick in. Paul and Johnny have a appointment to get Hershey and Elmo to the butcher shop, which reminds me of the time a few weeks ago when the they got out of their fence and Carmen and Levi were the only ones home. Anyways, all's well that ends well they say. If you want to hear the whole story ask Carmen. The other fall chore is getting rid of all friendly field mice that try to live inside for the winter. I suppose we should freeze them for making stock or something, after all they're organic, free range and all that.

9/21 For the second fall in a row there will be no orange fall foliage at the farm. There is a fungus that kind of takes over with these wet springs and causes the leaves of the maples to turn brown and fall off instead of the regular color routine in the fall. There are also lots of caterpiller on the leaves as well. The State tree folks say that all will probably be OK. It is not all over the area but there are some big sections affected.

9/5 The last flowers of the year are now out, just before the leaves start to turn.

8/22 Now that there is abundant local corn and it has cooled off a bit, it's time for some corn roasting. There is some debate in my family about how best to do the roasting. (see the picture for more on this)

8/11 Its only the first half of august but we had a nippy feeling in the air around here, very early fall like.

July- The sun has come out this week, Horray. Here are a couple of new sunny pics.
