| So these pic's are from my trip to TrekWorld 2008 as they call it, Trek bikes annual dealer show in Madison, Wisconsin. It was a quick and jam packed trip and I learned a lot of stuff. It's much smaller than Interbike (the big bike show at the end of next month) of course but it was nice to have a more focused trip this time, and it was nice to have it cool outside. Unfortunatley my bike demo session got rained out so I didn't get to go off roading at the famous Trek mountain bike trails. | ||

This is from the roof of the conference center (Manona Terrace) looking towards the capitol. The city is kind of designed around the capitol building and the hotel and everything was an easy walk. |

| There was a steady schedule of events but I took an hour out to check out the capitol building and see the farmers market. | ||
| The farmers market is huge. There are stalls all the way around the Capitol. All sorts of veggies, cheeses, meats, honey, all the regular stuff made local. This pic was taken pretty early, the crowd got 4 people deep later. I bought some 8 year chedder to see how they do it out there. It was very good but it tasted more yellow than a good hunter chedder from the northeast. | ||
| So the show, Well I did get to ride once. The president had a big presentation about how they are going to be involved in getting more people on bikes which is cool. After the speech we all (around a thousand of us) had the opportunity to ride over to the evening's festivities as trek provided this pile of bikes for us to ride. It was as you can see, a pretty big undertaking. It happened to start pouring halfway through our ride (it had rained a couple of times already during the day) and didn't stop for any length of time until we left town the next day. So you had maybe 800 soaked people riding through Madison Saturday evening at once in this miles long train in the driving rain, it was pretty cool. Most of us ate and headed back to the hotels to dry out and warm up pretty quick. | ||
| This picture is just here cause of the little dude checking out the road bikes. There were a number of kids there. | ||

| Just a pan of the whole show floor. There was Trek of course but also Gary Fisher and Lemond and Bontrager accesories | ||
| This is what we saw the whole way out, none of that desert you see going out west. | ||
| A little bit of hassle getting home with one cancelled flight and the other delayed a couple hours, but the flight next to ours was 6 hours late | ||
